The past couple of weeks have seen several openings, closings and relocations at Westfield Montgomery mall. Here’s the latest:

  • Tato’s, a new build-your-own potato bar, has opened in the former Chocolate Moonshine/7-Eleven space. Tato’s launched last year at the Commas Food Hall in Silver Spring, offering customized baked potatoes with toppings like beef stew, jerk chicken, teriyaki pork, barbacoa with guacamole, chili with sour cream and meatballs with marinara.
  • Foot Locker, which has been operating out of temporary quarters since last summer, has finally moved into its huge new storefront near Macy’s Home. The sneaker chain, which caters to both kids and adults, recently merged with Dick’s Sporting Goods. 
  • On the beauty front, L’Occitane is relocating to the former Kiehl’s space. Kiehl’s closed last month after a 12-year run.
  • KaFean Koffee has gone dark after just 18 months, exiting the kiosk and lounge area that was originally built more than a decade ago for Peet’s. This spot has since hosted a revolving door of businesses, from ice cream (Moorenko’s) to edible cookie dough (Cookie Dough & Co.) to holiday-season cocktails (the Jingle Lounge). What’s next?
