You know that too-quiet corridor off the Dining Terrace at Westfield Montgomery mall, where Chick-fil-A thrives and everything else dies? It’s getting a fresh infusion of tenants. Ay Mama!, a taco shop from the same folks who opened Tato’s next door, just made its debut in the always-changing space that was most recently home to Falafel Inc. Owners Victor Nava and Christian Saucedo, who also operate J&J Taqueria in D.C., says their newest spot offers a halal menu (sorry, no pork tacos) with traditional Mexican foods at moderate prices.

Across the hall, in the corner spot where Gold Bunny Donuts just closed, Virginia-based coffee chain Shotted is on the way. Shotted, which describes itself as “Saudi-inspired,” serves traditional Arabic coffee as well as specialty drinks and Middle Eastern snacks.
