Right on the heels of Popeyes closing at Westfield Montgomery mall, The Children’s Place and 7-Eleven both went dark in the final days of January. The first closing was expected, as the kids’ clothing chain has been shuttering stores across the country and this location has been clearing out its merchandise since last fall. But 7-Eleven’s departure was a something of a surprise. Despite opening in mid-2020, at the height of the pandemic, this unusual mall location appeared to attract a steady stream of customers over the years. No word yet on what will fill these empty spaces.
