It’s unusual for stores and restaurants to close down during the busy holiday season, but that’s exactly what happened with Popeyes at Westfield Montgomery mall. The restaurant went dark without explanation for several weeks, then suddenly reopened just in time for this weekend’s crowds. Is it back for good? We’ll see. A few doors down from Popeyes, DQ/Orange Julius permanently closed last summer. But the last couple of months also have brought some newcomers to the mall’s Dining Terrace: namely Greek Aroma, serving a halal menu, and Malia’s Kitchen, offering seafood and soul food.
