Kicking off the fall shopping scene at Westfield Montgomery mall: a closing, an opening and quite a bit of reshuffling. On its way out is The Children’s Place, which is shuttering 100 stores nationwide and will exit Westfield Montgomery after the holidays. If you’re looking for bargains, stop in soon; going-out-of-business sales have already begun. In the Nordstrom wing, seasonal retailer Sheepskin Gifts & Alpaca Too has returned for the fall/winter months with its usual mix of cozy clothes, accessories and stuffed animals. Over by Macy’s Home, discount shop Mulier has relocated to a new space with its treasure-hunt collection of women’s clothes for $9.99 or less. Melashops, specializing in South Asian clothing and jewelry, has changed its name to Mela and moved next door to Build-a-Bear Workshop. Wild Custom Apparel, which prints made-to-order T-shirts, is now next door to the Lego store. And American Eagle is still operating out of temporary quarters while its longtime store gets a facelift.
