By this time next year, Westfield Montgomery mall will have at least a half-dozen fresh dining options. Three new eateries have just been announced, on top of the three that were already in progress. And we hear there’s still another crowd-pleaser on the way. So who’s on the list?

  • Persian fast-casual chain Mâmân Joon Kitchen will take over the longtime Tara Thai space, most recently home to the short-lived Brio’s Chicken. The menu sounds a lot like Moby Dick: kabobs, sandwiches, Mediterranean salads, dips and sides. Mâmân Joon (the name means “Dear Mom” in Persian) currently has six locations in the D.C. area. Another one, long delayed, is supposed to open near Nordstrom Rack on Shady Grove Road.
  • Esvin’s Bagels and Café, a new venture from a local father-and-son team, will finally fill the old Blaze Pizza space that’s been empty for nearly a decade. This breakfast-all-day spot will offer bagels, sandwiches, salads, bowls, pastries and milkshakes — plus espresso drinks, Guatemalan coffee, and aguas frescas like tamarindo and horchata.
  • Kami Ramen Bar will fill the empty space just outside the Dining Terrace, between Cinnabon and the upcoming Wetzel’s Pretzels. Meanwhile, the Terrace itself is getting two major new restaurants: Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings and the pan-Asian Shiki Bistro.

Who else might be joining the mall’s food scene? We’re betting on HeyTea, the Chinese bubble tea sensation that’s already been a huge hit at Wintergreen Plaza.
