Chinese bubble tea chain HeyTea has opened at Wintergreen Plaza, drawing lines around the block in its first few days. Dozens of staffers were on site for opening weekend, peeling fresh fruit and preparing the cheese-foam topping that HeyTea is known for. Prices are a little higher than most of the competition on Rockville Pike — some drinks are in the $10 range — but the company’s loyal fans don’t seem to mind. You can find HeyTea on the left side of Wintergreen Plaza, in the former home of SweetFrog.

I’d like to know about HeyTea. What is it? And what to expect taste wise.
Is it tapioca based? I’d like to know more about the cheese foam before I spend
the $10!
Thanks

The bubbles are the same tapioca that other bubble tea shops use, although we did find them to be exceptionally fresh. The cheese foam is sweet and light. It tastes something like whipped cheesecake. The fruit is all freshly cut and peeled. In our opinion, HeyTea is definitely worth a try.
