For the past couple of weeks, the Store Reporter mailbag has been filled with messages from readers reminiscing about their holiday memories at Normandie Farm — and wondering if the Potomac landmark is ever going to reopen. This is the second holiday season to come and go since chef/owner Cary Prokos retired (after a 39-year run) and D.C.-based H2 Collective took the reins at Normandie Farm. H2, owned by brothers Eric and Ian Hilton, has developed a lively portfolio of restaurants including Chez Billy Sud in Georgetown, Players Club gaming bar in D.C., and the French brasserie Parc de Ville in northern Virginia. Initially, there was talk about turning Normandie Farm into a beer garden or some other venture that might attract a younger crowd. But no such plan has materialized, and H2 tells us there are “no current updates” on what might happen to the 90-plus-year-old property. We’ll keep checking. What is the purpose of them buying this property and not doing anything with it? Are they just going to turn it into real estate eventually?

Previously, owners told us that a new restaurant was eventually going to open on the Normandie Farm property. More recently, they have have responded there are “no current updates” on what might happen there. So for now, we have no answers.
