Big news on the chocolate scene at Westfield Montgomery mall: We’re hearing buzz that a high-end Swiss chocolatier has chosen this location for its first store in Maryland. Läderach, best known for its signature chocolate slabs, has a flagship store on New York’s Fifth Avenue and is quickly expanding throughout the U.S. At Westfield Montgomery, it’s expected to take over the Chocolate Moonshine space that once belonged to Godiva. Chocolate Moonshine is temporarily closed, but owner Robert Jarrett tells us it will soon reopen in the former 7-Eleven space near the Dining Terrace. The new store will continue to sell truffle bars, fudge and other chocolate treats, but Jarrett is also working on a selection of teas, lattes and chocolate-based drinks. He hopes to get the new location open before Mother’s Day. Timeline for the potential Läderach: TBD.
