Back in June, we told you that Miami-based restaurant chain Pura Vida was coming to Cabin John Village — but at the time, we couldn’t say where. Now we can share the rest of the story: Colada Shop is moving out, and Pura Vida is taking over its space between Cava and Sisters Thai. The brightly colored restaurant was originally built for Le Pain Quotidien, which opened in 2018 and closed just two years later. Colada Shop, serving Cuban food and coffee, took over in 2021 but never managed to attract the same crowds that it does in D.C. Colada’s last day at Cabin John will be Sept. 28th. Pura Vida — opening date TBD — will serve an all-day menu of salads, sandwiches, açai bowls, smoothies, teas and coffee.

Hi! What was in the space before Colada and Le Pain Quotedien before that? Seems like an unlucky space, although it’s the prettiest with most windows and a great outdoor area.

Le Pain Quotidien, which opened in 2018, was the first tenant to occupy this space: https://www.storereporter.com/le-pain-quotidien-opening-cabin-john-village-potomac/
And we agree, it’s a beautiful spot.
