D.C.-based Colada Shop opens at Cabin John Village this weekend with a modern twist on Cuban cuisine, coffee and cocktails. We had a chance to try out the menu and can vouch for the tasty Santiago bowls, plantains, tres leches, guava pastries and cortados. Spring drink specials include the Umeshu a lo Cubano (Bacardi Gold, plum wine, lemongrass and cardamom) and Sorrel del Caribe (Bacardi Black, Velvet Falernum, cherry-hibiscus syrup and lime). Colada Shop also offers its own line of coffee beans, chocolates and giftable desserts in pretty take-home tins.
