Armand’s Pizzeria & Grille, one of the oldest local pizza chains in the DMV, will close its last remaining location on June 20th. Founded 51 years ago in D.C.’s Tenleytown neighborhood — and eventually expanding to 14 locations — Armand’s Chicago-style deep-dish pizza earned an avid following in D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Founder Lew Newmyer and his family remained active in the business until about a decade ago, after which Armand’s shrunk to a single location in Rockville. If you want to grab a slice before it closes, you’ll find the last Armand’s on Halpine Road in the Shops at Congressional Village.

What kind of place is gonna replace Armands pizza? I hope it’ll be a good and better restaurant please no more Asian restaurants. I hate those places. I like American or seafood or something.
