This week we say goodbye to two longtime institutions on Rockville Pike. The 7-Eleven store in The Shops at Congressional Village closed its doors just days after the opening of its new next-door neighbor, Japanese variety store Teso Life. No word yet on what will replace 7-Eleven, but it’s likely to be another new Asian business. A bit further south on Rockville Pike, the former Arby’s restaurant has begun its transformation into McDonald’s. A couple of years ago, this building was supposed to become a Shake Shack, Now it’s getting a set of Golden Arches instead.
