Sad twist on the Cabin John Village snack scene: The Pretzel Bakery has closed after a four-year run. The D.C.-based business, known for its Philadelphia-inspired pretzels, expanded to Potomac in 2022 after a successful run on Capitol Hill. The shop offered all kinds of sweet and salty pretzel concoctions, and its sliders were good enough to earn a spot on Store Reporter’s Best Breakfast Sandwiches list in 2024. But the shop faced new competition last fall with the arrival Bethesda Bagels, which added another grab-and-go option for breakfast and inexpensive snacks.

Bummer! My kids enjoyed this place a lot but we rarely found it busy. We ordered catering from them for a preschool event for our teachers and they did a great job.
That being said, I would love to see a casual pizza place added back to the shopping center where you can grab a slice or pie to go.

That’s too bad. The pretzels were really delish and the staff was super kind. Will miss this business.
