Neighbors Barista is aiming for an early August debut at the Woodley Gardens shopping center, home of Carmen’s Italian Ice. This is the first brick-and-mortar venture for owners Spencer Trach and Lulu Parajuli, who’ve been roasting beans in their garage and selling at the Kentlands Farmers Market for the past few years. The Neighbors menu also will include small-batch teas and baked goods from Rockville’s Fresh Baguette.
Meanwhile, another Rockville coffee house/bakery is preparing to close its doors. Lavande Patisserie, best known for its fancy cakes and lavender lattes, will go dark at the end of July after a decade at 275 North Washington Street.
