Nearly a year after it was originally supposed to open at Cabin John Village, construction of the new Mykonos Restaurant is finally back on track. Co-owner Angelo Mitsotakis, who also owns Mykonos Grill and Gyroland in Rockville, says his plans for the old Broadway Pizza space were held up by multiple construction and permitting delays. Now he’s beginning the buildout of the new upscale restaurant, which will feature an open-kitchen format, an indoor/outdoor U-shaped bar, and a pergola-topped patio around the back complete with olive trees and a fire pit. The menu will offer longtime Mykonos favorites like calamari, octopus and Greek salad, as well as many new dishes. Mitsotakis says he now hopes to open the indoor portion of the restaurant around Valentine’s Day and have the patio done by early summer 2025.
