Now that The Block food hall has officially gone dark at Pike & Rose, we have news about who’s moving in: Mui, a new “Japanese-inspired” fine dining restaurant specializing in sushi, seafood and grilled meats. There will be an omakase option — meaning that the chef chooses what to serve that night — and the bar will offer an extensive scotch and sake menu along with champagne, wine and cocktails. Mui will be run by Ivea Restaurant Group, the Gaithersburg-based company that also operates Lao Sze Chuan, Akira Ramen, Urban Hot Pot, Gong Cha, Kyo Matcha, The Spot Asian food hall, and other eateries in and around Rockville. In addition, Ivea is redeveloping The Shops at Congressional Village into a hub for Asian businesses on Rockville Pike. Mui is expected to open this winter next to West Elm.
