Èkó House, the pan-African restaurant that succeeded Bar Louie, will close its doors this weekend after less than two years at Rockville Town Square. On social media, owners said there was “misalignment with our landlord on the path forward.” The restaurant celebrated Nigerian culture with frequent parties and private events, but it often appeared to be closed during typical business hours. Great food. Horrible service. Wish it could’ve figured it out. Perhaps a smaller space?

Service was horrible. Prices the same. We waited 1 hour for drinks and another hour for our food. When we inquired, they simply said that the items were sold out. The appetizer did come out, but the dumplings were super small and overpriced. The staff didn’t even bother to apologize. There were hardly guests that evening, but the waiter didn’t bother checking on our table. We left and went to get dumplings at East Dumpling house, always a big hit.
