Club Studio, the high-end gym that replaced LA Fitness at North Bethesda Market, has gone dark for an undetermined period less than four months after it opened. Citing a “building maintenance issue,” the club has not set a reopening date. Instead, it has paused online sales and is advising existing members to visit its next-closest locations in Arlington and Tysons Corner. Club Studio is the posh three-year-old sister chain to LA Fitness, offering additional amenities and charging much higher rates. LA Fitness members initially grumbled about the new pricing, and then about how long it took for the upgraded gym to open. Now they’re wondering how long it’ll be closed.
