A year after LA Fitness went dark on Rockville Pike, it’s poised to reopen as a luxury gym with a new identity: Club Studio. This is the latest concept from Fitness International, which owns LA Fitness but is now looking to compete with higher-end chains like Life Time and Equinox. (Membership at Club Studio’s Virginia gyms ranges from $169 to $249 per month.) In addition to strength and cardio equipment, Club Studio offers five types of classes: cycling, boxing, yoga, Pilates, and cross-training in the style of Orangetheory. Some locations also feature extras like cryotherapy and hydro-massage beds. The Rockville location, on the second floor of the NoBe Market shopping center, will be the first Club Studio in Maryland.

Larry
It would be nice for Club Studio to honor LA Fitness Signature Club memberships from the Rockville location since both clubs are owned by Fitness International and all the nearby Signature Clubs have been closed. It’s unfortunate that those of us with Signature memberships paid for a higher end Club that has been taken away.

If not, lots of us will be filing suit. Already cheated during transfer many of the premium plus membership benefits from Ballys Fitness
