Chateau de Rockville, the newest coffee house and bakery on the Pike, opened its doors this week in the Shops at Congressional Village. The menu features a wide variety of specialty coffees, teas and fruit drinks along with pastries, cakes and other sweet treats baked on site. Chateau, which has a sister location in Virginia, is the latest addition to the newly bustling shopping center at 1701 Rockville Pike. Recent openings, most of them Asian businesses, include BBQ and hotpot restaurant Kanpai; “soupless ramen” restaurant Kajiken; revolving sushi spot Uzu; Japanese dessert cafe Okaeri; collectibles/gaming shop Meow Claw; and the Asian variety store Teso Life.
