Fitness chain Washington Sports Clubs exited Maryland last week when its last remaining location closed its doors at the Georgetown Square shopping center. During the pandemic, the company was sued several times by D.C.’s attorney general for failing to honor members’ cancellation requests, continuing to charge membership fees for clubs that weren’t even open, and failing to comply with the District’s health and safety orders.
