Trader Joe’s opened its doors this week at The Square in Rockville, giving the long-struggling neighborhood a much-needed anchor — and hopefully a big boost in foot traffic. This store replaces one of the Square’s original 2012 tenants, Dawson’s Market, which struggled to stay in business and finally closed last year. The aisles here will feel familiar if you’ve been to the grocer’s Darnestown location, which is laid out quite differently from the one on Rockville Pike. Next up for Rockville’s supermarket scene: Wegmans, arriving June 25th in the Twinbrook Quarter development on the Pike. We’ll have a sneak peek before the doors open.
