Almost ready to open on Rockville Pike: Terra Gaucha, an all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse that aims to give Fogo de Chão a run for its money. The restaurant showcases the churrasco technique of seasoning meats with traditional Gaucho spices, grilling them over open flames, and carving them at your table. In addition to the rotating cuts of beef, pork and lamb, diners can help themselves to a hot-and-cold buffet and finish with Brazilian desserts. Dinner is priced at $59.95 (a few dollars less than Fogo at Pike & Rose). Lunch is $39.95 on weekdays and $49.95 on weekends. Lower-priced options are available for the chicken and seafood entrées, or for the salad and hot-and-cold bar alone. The 200-seat restaurant, Terra Gaucha’s first in the Mid-Atlantic, includes three private dining rooms and an expansive bar. You’ll find it at 1651 Chapman Avenue, in the Twinbrook Quarter development next door to Wegmans.

Editor’s note: Terra Gaucha’s opening has been moved to Sunday, Dec. 28th.
