Now that Melina has finally arrived at Pike & Rose (more on that in our Nov. 18th edition), the next addition to the dining scene will be D.C.-based chicken chain Roaming Rooster. The family-owned business, which launched six years ago as a food truck, specializes in southern dishes like honey butter fried chicken, Nashville hot chicken, biscuits, tater tots and twice-baked fries. Construction began last summer in the old Roti space, and the sign recently went up but the opening is still at least a few months away. Owners tell us they’re hoping to launch in February.
