Pines of Rome has shut down its Rockville outpost after less than two years at the Congressional North shopping center. The tiny storefront had been a satellite location for the longtime Italian restaurant, offering takeout and delivery only from this space. The full-service Pines of Rome, on Cordell Avenue in downtown Bethesda, remains open.

I’ve ordered from the now closed location before, what I noticed is the quality was not up to par with other pizza locations near by. I think they needed to workshop their recipes and get the right spices and prices locked in before they launched such an ambitious project.
