These are the final few weeks for Wine Harvest, which will close its doors on New Year’s Eve after a decade at Park Potomac. The Meyrowitz family, which ran this restaurant as well as the recently closed Kentlands location, says it was too difficult to turn a profit in the current environment. “A large portion of Park Potomac residents are staying safe and staying inside,” says Andrew Meyrowitz, who now works for Schneider’s of Capitol Hill. And with nearby offices empty for months at a time, the restaurant lost much of its business crowd as well. “It was time to hang up our corkscrews,” Meyrowitz says. Wine Harvest isn’t the only tenant exiting this month: Right around the corner, Park Potomac Yoga is also going dark. Owner Debi Schenk, who opened the studio just last year, says her lease didn’t make sense without in-person classes. Schenk is teaching online for now and hopes to reopen nearby when the pandemic is over.
