Two years after it arrived at Westfield Montgomery mall, Asian variety store Miniso has been such a hit that it’s more than doubling its storefront on the mall’s lower level. Miniso is based in China, but it specializes in cheerful “Japanese-inspired” goods: plush toys, toiletries, housewares, electronics, games, pet products and more. Some of the store’s brands are new to U.S. shoppers, but many items tie into familiar franchises from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Sanrio (home of Hello Kitty). Miniso, celebrating its 10th anniversary, has more than 5,400 stores around the world.
