In a whirlwind transformation that took less than a month, Ann Taylor Factory is now open in the former Lane Bryant space at Rockville’s Federal Plaza. The off-price retailer, typically found at outlet malls, carries a tailored selection of women’s workwear, dressy casual clothing and accessories. (Good news for your budget: Even though the store just opened, much of the merchandise is already on sale.) Ann Taylor and Lane Bryant, along with sister chain Loft, are owned by a division of the private equity firm Sycamore Partners. After another acquisition just last month, they are also now affiliated with Chico’s, Soma and White House Black Market.
