Amazon Fresh, the on-again/off-again grocery experiment, appears to be off for good. Amazon is closing the entire short-lived chain, which arrived on Shady Grove Road just 18 months ago. This particular location, near Nordstrom Rack, had an especially rocky path: Construction stopped and restarted several times before doors finally opened in August 2024. Amazon Fresh now joins the graveyard of its parent company’s failed brick-and-mortar concepts, which also includes Amazon Go, Amazon Books and Amazon 4-Star.
