Here’s a quick look inside the new Amazon Fresh store on Shady Grove Road, where the e-commerce behemoth is transforming a former Office Depot location into a state-of-the-art supermarket. Unlike Amazon’s Whole Foods chain, this store will offer a wider range of price points and a completely tech-assisted shopping experience: It will be full of devices that can read your Alexa-created grocery list, map out your route, guide you to all the right aisles and automatically total your purchases. And with Amazon’s new “Just Walk Out” technology, you can leave the store without even stopping at the register. When will it open? We’re hearing Sept. 1st.
