Two new restaurants to try on your next visit to Rockville Town Square: Èkó House and Kumbia, both now open on Gibbs Street. Èkó House, which replaces Bar Louie, is a pan-African restaurant that celebrates Nigerian culture. Kumbia, which replaces Spice Xing, serves cuisine from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil and Ecuador. These two restaurants join fellow newcomer El Mercat Bar de Tapas, which opened in January across from First Watch. Still in limbo just around the corner: HalfSmoke, which signed a lease in summer 2020 but has yet to move forward with construction.
