The Spirit Halloween pop-up shop has opened at Rockville’s Congressional Plaza — unlike last year, when it arrived just weeks before Halloween. This time it has materialized directly above The Container Store, in the space that was once home to Neiman-Marcus Last Call and later to a Roche Bobois outlet. Spirit Halloween stores lean toward the scary side — including this year’s zombie babies, terrifying clowns and hanging pig heads — so be cautious about bringing young children. The hot costumes of 2026 include Nikki from Obsession, Pennywise from It: Welcome to Derry, Billy the Puppet from Saw, and of course the perennial Ghost Face from Scream. On the lighter side, they also have Spiderman, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, KPop Demon Hunters and inflatable T-Rexes.
