Longtime Potomac restaurant Renato’s is changing hands, and the identity of the new owners is still under wraps — but we’re hearing buzz that it’s the Cava guys. Ted Xenohristos, Dimitri Moshovitis and Ike Grigoropoulos, a trio of MoCo-raised entrepreneurs, founded the Cava chain as well as the Pike & Rose restaurants Julii, Melina and soon-to-open Bouboulina. If they are indeed the buyers of Renato’s, that means Potomac Village will get a brand new fine-dining destination. According to MoCo360, Renato’s has been up for sale since owner Ashley Grolig passed away three years ago. The restaurant’s last day of business will be Sunday, Sept. 29th. News about the new owners should be announced very soon. You heard it here first.
