Homesense, a fast-growing discount chain owned by T.J. Maxx, is moving into the former A.C. Moore space at Montrose Crossing. The Rockville shopping center is becoming a mecca for home and furniture stores, from Home Depot Design Center and the upcoming Burlington to Value City Furniture, Bob’s Discount Furniture,Marshalls and Target. HomeSense is pretty similar to its sister store, HomeGoods, with a vast selection of kitchenware, pillows, rugs, wall art, decor and textiles. But while HomeGoods typically offers random pieces of furniture, Homesense sells complete matched sets as well as lighting, bathroom fixtures, paint, wallpaper and tools. The Rockville store will be the chain’s fifth in Maryland; opening date TBD.
