The Grilled Oyster Co., a fine-dining fixture in Potomac since 2012, will close its doors next week at Cabin John Village. “The pandemic has put so much pressure on us, but it’s also taught us a couple of things,” says co-owner Valerie Dugan, who runs the restaurant with husband Rick. “We’ve been looking for a smaller space and a way to get rid of these enormous bills.” The couple found the right location near their home in Kentlands, where they’ve signed a lease and plan to reopen later this year. The restaurant would have been forced to move soon anyway, as Cabin John owner Edens plans to carve a new road right through its existing location. This way, the new Grilled Oyster will already be up and running by the time that happens. “We’ve had great loyal support here at Cabin John,” Dugan says. “We’re sad to go, but it’s the right thing for us right now.”
