On a week when there’s been much discussion about women’s fitness and mental health, activewear company Athleta is launching a digital platform that dives into both topics. AthletaWell, a new resource for the brand’s loyalty club members, will offer exercise classes, nutrition programs, online access to therapists, and chat forums to discuss women’s issues and body positivity. Down the road, there will be appearances by Olympic athletes Simone Biles and Allyson Felix, as well as other female role models. And you don’t have to be an Athleta fan to participate: Last week, Gap Inc. combined the loyalty programs for all its brands — Athleta, Old Navy, Banana Republic and The Gap — so that loyalty points at one store will be honored by all four. Athleta recently opened a store at Rockville’s Congressional Plaza; the other three retailers can be found at Westfield Montgomery mall.
