Arc’teryx, the high-end manufacturer of outdoor gear and apparel, will open this fall on the lower level of Westfield Montgomery mall. Best known for its sleek technical jackets, parkas and climbing gear, the Canadian brand is popular with winter sports enthusiasts but also super-hot with Gen Z. Its name comes from the Archaeopteryx, an ancient fossil that’s considered to be a link between dinosaurs and birds. Arc’teryx is carried locally by REI, Dick’s and Nordstrom – but this will be the brand’s first standalone store in Maryland.
