After several years of shrinking options for kosher fare at Cabin John Village, Playa Bowls has changed its menu to accommodate observant Jewish customers. Rabbi Adam Raskin, of synagogue Har Shalom in Potomac, has been assisting the owners in their transition to all-kosher products. “A lot of what they served was already intrinsically kosher,” Raskin says. But now, he says, those who follow Jewish dietary laws “can feel confident that this is a place where they can eat.” In addition, the neighboring Giant supermarket is making its own grab for kosher customers. As you enter the newly renovated store, it’s impossible to miss the huge “Kosher” sign promoting an expanded array of offerings.
