Great news for fans of Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana: The beloved Connecticut restaurant chain is finally moving forward on its new location at Westfield Montgomery mall. Construction is getting under way in the old Bobby’s Burger space next to Cheesecake Factory, which has been empty for more than 18 months. Frank Pepe, founded almost a century ago, is credited with creating the “New Haven style” of thin, crispy pizza baked in a coal-fired oven. Its signature pie features white clams, garlic and pecorino romano cheese. The mall location will have an inside entrance for shoppers, plus outside access for pickup and delivery. Opening date TBD.
