Here’s a sneak peek of Rockville’s new Spirit Halloween store, which is just about to open inside the former Bed Bath & Beyond space. This year’s theme is “Carnevil,” featuring animatronic ringmasters, knife-wielding ghosts, creepy sideshow acts and the inevitable scary clowns. This year, Spirit Halloween is opening a record 1,525 stores in North America — most of them inside vacant storefronts where landlords are happy to collect a few months’ rent. This new location in Rockville has created a perfect Halloween shopping trifecta: The neighboring Michaels is already brimming with seasonal decor, and Party City across the street has a fully stocked Halloween shop of its own.
