The Jared jewelry store that closed last summer on Rockville Pike has reopened with a new identity: Diamonds Direct. Jared’s parent company, Signet, acquired the Diamonds Direct chain in 2021 and is looking to expand its national footprint. This Rockville location, under renovations for the past few months, is the first Diamonds Direct store in Maryland and the second in the D.C. area. Happily for fans of the store’s previous incarnation, some of Jared’s longtime staffers are back on the job. (This story has been updated.)
