Wonderland Books opened its doors in downtown Bethesda this week, giving the area its first locally owned bookstore in recent memory — and its first real literary gathering spot since Barnes & Noble closed in 2017. Wonderland is owned by two longtime friends who love to read: Amy Joyce, a former Washington Post parenting editor, and Gayle Weiswasser, who previously worked in corporate communications. In addition to their curated selection of books for all ages, the partners are planning a full schedule of author talks, book clubs, panel discussions, trivia nights and the like. You’ll find their new store at 7920 Norfolk Ave.

I love Store Reporter. You have expanded incredibly since you first started, but you’ve never lost sight of the needs of your audience.
Thank you.
