This week marked the final chapter for Sugo at Park Potomac, which closed for “renovations” a few weeks back and is now gone for good. The restaurant’s owner, Dhvani Vyas, says he was unable to come to terms with the landlord over air conditioning repairs and other maintenance issues. Sugo was originally created by the founders of Cava, who have since moved on to new ventures including Julii and the upcoming Melina. Vyas, who is also a local franchisee for Subway and Ledo Pizza, took the reins at Sugo in 2018. This departure leaves yet another empty space at Park Potomac, which also lost Wine Harvest in January and Elevation Burger in June.
