Sugo, one of the first restaurants to open at Park Potomac nearly a decade ago, has closed for “renovations” and may or may not be back. At issue, we’re told, is the state of the air conditioning system and other upgrades that are needed to help the restaurant compete with busy neighbors like Founding Farmers, Gringos & Mariachis and King Street Oyster Bar. Sugo was originally created by the founders of Cava, who have since moved on to new ventures including Julii and the upcoming Melina. Dhvani Vyas, a local franchisee for Subway and Ledo Pizza, has owned the restaurant since 2018. (Editor’s update: Sugo is now permanently closed. Click here for more.)
