At long last — and nearly two years after the lease was signed — Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana is making visible progress on its new location at Westfield Montgomery mall. The signs are up, the buzzsaws are buzzing, the interior has been gutted, and there’s finally nothing left of Bobby’s Burger Palace. Frank Pepe, founded almost a century ago, is credited with creating the “New Haven style” of thin, crispy pizza baked in a coal-fired oven. Its signature pie is topped with white clams, garlic and pecorino cheese. This new location — likely to open in mid-2022 — will offer dine-in, pickup and delivery.
