Macy’s is rolling out its biggest private-label initiative in years — developed by some of the same people who helped create Target’s popular house brands — and the new fashions have started to arrive at Westfield Montgomery mall. The first collection, On 34th, is a line of “classic” workwear that’s supposed to represent “how women want to dress for modern life.” We appreciate the inclusive sizing — pieces range from XXS to 26W — but we found the actual styles to be uninspiring. There are three more private-label brands still to come, and Macy’s says it will discontinue some older lines to make room for them. Let’s hope they’re more interesting than On 34th.

Looks very Target …

These clothing styles are not very fashionable and I hope your new reveal will have items I would actually consider purchasing. Your “backstage” items” make the store look like a thrift shop and I find it to be detrimental to the entire look of the store. Additionally, you advertise sales of items which have had the prices so inflated that it’s quite obvious they really aren’t on sale at all. What are you doing to the once wonderful store that has been around for so many successful years.
