A major tenant shakeup is coming to Wintergreen Plaza on the Pike: Gold’s Gym is moving out, and Rockville Ace Hardware is moving in. This new location will be part of a locally owned, 14-store chain headed by Rockville native Craig Smith. “There is a void in the Rockville market for an independent hardware store like ours,” says Smith, a graduate of Walter Johnson High School. “Service is our promise to customers, and that’s how we differentiate ourselves. We will walk people through their projects from start to finish.” The Ace store will occupy 11,000 square feet on the ground floor of Wintergreen, including the area that’s about to be vacated by Gold’s.
