Rockville’s new Ace Hardware has opened at Wintergreen Plaza, offering the variety and service of an old-fashioned general store. Shelves are stocked with everything from paints, plumbing supplies, cleaning products and gardening gear to greeting cards, pet toys, craft materials and school supplies. The store also specializes in lawn mowers, leaf blowers, Craftsman tools, Yeti products, and all the major brands of grills and grilling accessories — not to mention an array of outdoor cookware and barbecue spices. The Rockville store is the newest addition to a locally owned hardware chain headed by Walter Johnson graduate Craig Smith. You’ll find it on the ground floor of Wintergreen Plaza, in the space previously occupied by Gold’s Gym.
