New spot for coffee and Latin American treats in downtown Rockville: Bogotá Coffee House, now open across from The Square at 115 North Washington Street. The husband-and-wife owners, Marcela Serpa and Carlos Eduardo Isaza, are serving up croissants and waffles along with Colombian specialties like pastel de pollo (chicken and mushroom pie), palitos de queso (cheese sticks) and pandebono (crispy cheese bread with a chewy center). The menu includes specialty lattes, matcha drinks, smoothes, frappes and bonbon coffee (hot espresso over sweetened condensed milk). The shop is designed for lingering, with plenty of places to plug in a laptop.
